Only this week have been noticed by two independent media all over the world.On February 2nd Technospot, an Indian blog calling itself “an effort to make the life of normal users to understand on how to use their PC safe” delivered a thorough review of our service.On February 4th cnbc.com mentioned us in their “Sites of the day” series. Thank you for this and we’re waiting for more from the rest of the world

Earlier this week we changed the look of our home page. This is the first step to the completely new site of our hotel comparison engine. In the next 6-8 weeks you will see us publish fully structured website including country, city and hotel pages. The new structure is supposed to make it easier for you to navigate to your favourite hotel at best rates. Before we set the new version live, we will definitely post a beta version and ask for feedback.

It’s been 3 weeks since we introduced enhanced search results pages and it is high time for a blog post covering this.At first glance, the the new search results page does not seem to have changed a lot. However, there are plenty new features that are worth mentioning. Here they come.

• Photo view - previously you could browse hotels on a list or see them all on a map. Now we added Photo view that let’s you see all hotels with bigger picture.
• Filtering by amenities - that is a feature that our users have been asking for from the very beginning. So now you can narrow the search results list according to your requirements. Internet access is a must? No problem, just tick the right box, click the “narrow” button and only hotels offering internet access will be shown. Of course, you may choose more services you need and we will show you only properties featuring all of them.
• Shortlist - this is a really nice tool. Choosing the right hotel from 800 options may be a real pain. In order to make it easier, we have built a small tool called Shortlist. The Shortlist allows you to divide the decision process into 2 or more stages. For instance, when looking for a hotel in Lisbon, Portugal for a few days in February, you receive 259 hotels available. Out of the 259 hotels, 30 may fullfil your requirements (decent location, within the budget, required services and amenities). Choosing 1 out of 30 is much easier than choosing 1 out of 259 so you may prefer to show them to your friends or save them before you take the option later.
• Cookies - another feature asked you have been asking for. From now on HotelCalculator remembers your settings, i.e. language, currency, sorting option, pricing option and number of results per page. That means you can have more time for yourself.

We’ve been quite silent for the last couple of weeks but that is only because we were too busy working on our little project. In fact, it is getting bigger almost every day.

Today’s news is: 5 new language versions are available at HotelCalculator.com. From now on, you may search and compare hotels in Europe in Hebrew, Dutch, Swedish, Hungarian and Russian. Enjoy!

Finally, after several weeks of projects, layouts, schemes, discussions and preparing new functionalities, we can finally present new, enhanced search results page.

Right now, HotelCalculator.com allows you not only to compare the prices of accommodation provided by over 20 European providers, but also to see more detailed information about chosen accommodation venue.

From now on, you do not have to visit various websites to find the information about your chosen hotel. You can see them directly at http://www.hotelcalculator.com

The major improvements of our search results hotel presentation are:

• services & amenities – elegant, blue icons representing services & amenities available in the selected hotels, will help you make a right choice. If you are looking for a swimming pool in a hotel or you cannot live without internet access, you will see which hotels suit your needs the most;
• see map link – clicking on a link will show you a city map with the hotel marked with an icon. Thanks to this, you will see the exact location of your selected hotel;
• prices of all available rooms – in the previous version of our search results page we were presenting the lowest price available for the selected hotel. Now, at the enhanced version, you may see a complete list of all available rooms. You can just select the room directly on our website;
• hotel pictures – as visual senses are one of the most important for people, we decided to place thumbnails of hotel photos to let you see your selected hotel before being redirected to partner site.

We hope you like new functionalities. We also hope you will like the ones we are preparing at the moment – we haven’t finished the process of improvement – it’s just a start!

I am pleased to inform you that we have launched a beta version of our hotel comparison engine. With HotelCalculator.com you can compare hotel offers from more than 15 leading hotel booking engines in more than 6,000 European destinations.

To be honest, we are very excited about this website and we hope you will find it useful.

Please note, that we are in beta version now. That means that although the engine is error-free in 99%, you may occasionally see some mistakes. However, if you happen to see any, give us a chance to fix them by letting us know. Simply, e-mail me at: m.wlodarski@staypoland.com

We are giving ourselves 10 days to collect bug reports. We will then run a round of bug fixing before we add new sites to comparison.
